Mr. Abrary has more than 25 years of financial management and executive experience across various industries. Prior to helping found Ostara in 2005, he founded and was president of RTM Norden Inc., an international business and technology-consulting firm specializing in process industries. He was also manager of the audit practice at Pricewaterhouse Coopers from 1990 to 1995, working with private, public and multinational clients throughout North America. He has a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of British Columbia and a Chartered Professional Accounting designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountant.
MOLLY BIEDENFELD, BS, MBA
Vice President, Nutrients Market Development and Sales
Ms. Biedenfeld has more than 14 years of experience in the agriculture industry, about half of that in the fertilizer market. She joined Cargill Inc. in 2001 as commodity merchandiser and transitioned to The Mosaic Company in 2007 where she held various roles within the potash and phosphate divisions. In 2011, Ms. Biedenfeld was appointed Senior Manager of North American Phosphates, where she directed the positioning and risk management of Mosaic’s phosphate fertilizer portfolio. She has a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University and an MBA from University of Minnesota.
JUSTIN MILLER, BS
Director, Technical Sales
Mr. Miller’s career in the potato market spans nearly 20 years and reaches throughout the value chain. Justin’s strong agronomic and technical expertise has helped him to deliver value to growers, retailers, and distributors in various roles at R.D Offutt Company, Black Gold Farms, and Winfield Solutions. Justin received his Bachelor of Science in Plant Protection from North Dakota State University and was recognized with two Potato Top Supplier awards during 2002-2007.
DAN PARMAR, BComm, CPA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Parmar has more than 20 years of experience as a senior executive and a director of high growth Canadian companies. Prior to joining Ostara, he was the CFO of a local family office where he managed investments, capital and M&A activity for a portfolio of growing businesses located in Western Canada. He was also the CFO of two Vancouver based technology companies where he led their going public processes on the TSX and AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange. Mr. Parmar holds a Bachelor Commerce (Finance) from the University of British Columbia, is a graduate of the Ivey Executive Management Program at the University of Western Ontario, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
DAVE WACKER, BA, MBA
Regional Sales Manager
Mr. Wacker has more than 25 years’ experience in sales and general management. At Spring Valley Turf Products, Dave served as General Manager, responsible for strategic direction and operations for their turf fertilizer and ice melt markets. Dave is an industry veteran in sales, marketing, and operations. He has led merger and acquisition projects and has also served as an independent consultant for sales & strategic management. Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management.
PATRICK MITCHELL, BComm, S.C.M.P.
Supply Chain Manager
Mr. Mitchell has more than 10 years of experience in the supply chain and manufacturing industry. Mr. Mitchell is a leading specialist in process improvement, cost reduction and supply chain optimization. He has held management positions at both fast-growth organizations such as Zag Global Group where he managed their supply chain and international manufacturing operations, and at established beverage producers: Molson Brewery (Strategic Distribution Inc.) and PepsiCo Beverage Canada. Mr. Mitchell has a Bachelor of Commerce from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, and is a certified Supply Chain Management Professional (S.C.M.P.)
